What does your company do?

Our company provides Safety Supplies and Equipment (including PPE) for local government, industrial and personal requirements.

What are your backgrounds and how did you start the business?

Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1972 and opened a branch facility in the Philadelphia area for a regional safety distribution company based in Washington D.C. He managed all phases of business operations and was profitable for 10 years. After the branch closed in 2005 he worked for corporate headquarters as Director of Purchasing for three years. The decision to get into the safety

supplies and equipment business came from the realization that a business can run profitably and ethically while serving the community and providing education to help the proper use and needs for personal protection equipment and facility safety. We actually sell our knowledge and services as opposed to just selling products.

What are your biggest challenges and how are you addressing them?

Our biggest challenge is cash flow and the “Amazon Effect.” We are trying to speed up the time for our receivables and provide even better customer service.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What we love the most about our job is the satisfaction of solving our customers safety needs and getting the repeat business confirming we are doing things right.

Do you have any plans to grow/expand the company in the future?

We do have plans to grow the company in the future with local businesses and into Jacksonville, mainly by visiting our existing customers to determine additional opportunities, re-visiting old accounts and visiting new accounts.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

We would advise other entrepreneurs to learn as much as you can about the business and establish partnerships with like-minded influential people/associates.
