Institute for Health Services
Provides continuing education programs for health professionals, including nurses, nursing home administrators, social workers, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, respiratory care practitioners, occupational and physical therapists, dietitians/nutritionists and more. Courses can be customized and delivered on-site or at any Daytona State College campus.

New Directions
New Directions helps individuals gain marketable skills through specialized college-level and vocational training that can lead to immediate entry into many career and technical occupations.

The program offers supplemental funding to Pell eligible students enrolled in a vocational certificate or A.S. degree program with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. To be eligible you must meet at least one of the eligibility requirements to take advantage of the services offered through New Directions: Single Parent (male or female), Displaced Homemaker, Non-Traditional Student (those careers having less than 25% of their gender).

Funding for New Directions is made possible in part through the support of Daytona State College and Florida Department of Education, Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Postsecondary Programs, Section 132

Small Business Development Center
Sponsors a variety of workshops and seminars on how to increase business productivity, efficiency and effectiveness, and provides business owners with access to valuable research tools and individual business management assistance. Certified Business Analysts provide free and confidential counseling either face-to-face, over the telephone or by email.

Volusia’s Best Initiative
A PARTNERSHIP WITH CBI – CENTER FOR BUSINESS & INDUSTRY
The Volusia’s Best program helps area businesses meet standards of excellence through personalized training and performance planning. This initiative helps companies go from “good to great” by improving capital through business training using the “7 Keys”- systems execution; engaged employees; relationship building; vision and leadership; information technology; capital management; and exceeding expectations. It combines activity-based training, online learning, university research and one-on-one professional consulting to help companies avoid pitfalls and achieve high levels of performance. The program is customizable based on each business’s specific needs, and gives CEU’s & certification to businesses with little or no cost to company.

UCF Business Incubation Program
The UCF Business Incubation Program offers three programs:
Preincubation – Helps create and launch scalable startups with coaching, tools and resources
Incubation – Designed to help new and struggling early-stage businesses develop into financially stable companies.
Soft Landing Program – Assists international and domestic companies looking to relocate to this area.

The Daytona Beach International Airport incubator was established in July 2011, as a partnership between the University of Central Florida, Volusia County and the Florida High Tech Corridor Council.

Career Source Florida
Career Source Florida offers Employee Training programs to build and retain your team with The Incumbent Worker Training Program that upgrades existing team’s skills to heighten morale, improve retention and advancement in your company, with financial assistance provided through the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA).

On-the-Job Training provides the opportunity to train new hires in their actual work environment, while a portion of the employee’s wages may be reimbursed to the employer during the training period.

Quick Response Training Program (QRT) is an employer-driven training program that is customizable, flexible, and responsive to individual company needs and designed to assist new and existing businesses with the necessary training for expansion. The company may use in-house training, outside vendor training programs or a local educational entity to provide training. This program includes reimbursable training expenses through the FloridaFlex training grants program.

FloridaFlex is a customized grant program to help cover training costs for new hires and to assist small businesses with employee skills upgrades.

America’s Small Business Championship initiative:
This initiative rewards 102 small businesses around the country for the sacrifices they have made to make their businesses successful with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, all-expense paid attendance at a Championship Training & Networking Celebration, SCORE mentoring for one year, and significant national publicity.

By providing mentorship and sharing ethically sound business practices, SCORE’s nationwide initiatives help entrepreneurs and small business owners at various stages in their professional lives.

ERAU is committed to continuing professional education and lifelong learning courses through a variety of aviation focused short-courses. These courses are tailored for industry professionals involved in the operations, management, and supervision of aviation organizations. Program for High School Students:
Get a head start. Palmer Chiropractic recommends high school students take classes now in biology, chemistry and physical sciences to prepare them for the Chiropractic degree. Students can earn up to 20 credit hours toward their undergraduate degree through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).
